How much does membership cost?

Membership at Edenvale Photographic Club is R500 per year for individuals, or R800 per year for families.

When are your meetings?

EPC meets twice a month – In person on the second Saturday of the month, at Edenvale Scout Hall, and remotely on Zoom on the fourth Wednesday of the month.

Our in person meetings start at 9AM and our remote meetings start at 7PM. All meetings are approximately 2.5 – 3 hours in duration.

EPC is not a formal teaching facility and we assume that people joining us have a basic understanding of how their camera works and how to take photos. If you’re looking for a beginner’s course, we will refer you to one of the trusted instructors in our network.

How much are your workshops and outings?

Prices on our workshops and outings vary depending on the style of the outing, the duration, any costs we may incur in securing venues, models, etc. Some workshops and outings are free, but expect to pay upwards of R250 per photographer for the paid events.

I don't live in Edenvale. Can I still be a member?

Absolutely! We have members not just in other parts of South Africa, but in other countries too. Some of our members are as far afield as Dubai and India. Images are entered online ahead of a meeting, so can be submitted from anywhere in the world. And, with the power of Zoom and live streaming, you can attend our meetings online and view images and hear judge commentary and feedback.

Is there are minimum or maximum age to be a member?

Not at all – we welcome all passionate photographers, irrespective of age, demographic or experience.

Do I have to have experience to join the club?

You don’t have to be an experienced photographer per se, but we do expect you to have basic knowledge of how your camera works – from switching it on, to taking a photo and downloading it. If you need a photography course, we will refer you to trusted instructors in your area.

Do you teach Lightroom or Photoshop?

Edenvale Photo Club is not a training organization and unfortunately does not offer photo editing courses.

Memberships

We offer two types of membership at EPC, single or family.

Single membership applies if you are joining in your individual capacity. R500 pa for 2025.

Family membership is available where spouse/partner and/or children who are living in the same household intend to be active in the club. R800 pa for 2025.

Communications

We communicate with members via a club WhatsApp group, email and live announcements at club meetings. Please indicate in the submission form below whether or not you agree to receive communication from us via these channels.

General

By applying for club membership the applicant agrees to be bound by the Club’s Constitution and Rules
The Club’s financial year commences on the 1st of October and annual fees become due on this date
Only fully paid-up members are eligible to take part in club activities
Meetings are currently held at Edenvale scout hall on the 2nd Saturday, and online via Zoom on the 4th Wednesday of each month, except where that day falls on a holiday, and during the year end festive period (There are no club meetings during December or on the 2nd Saturday in January; meetings resume on the 4th Wednesday in January)
From time to time it may occur that we are unable to host a live meeting. In such instances, virtual club meetings will be held via Zoom.
