The month of March kicked off with a club meeting on the 15th (Delayed from the 8th due to a schedule clash with the MGC)
This was also the first installment of our open forum discussion on members photos. a total of 7 images were submitted for this, and some great constructive feedback was provided on all of them by the members who attended. Our judge for the evening was Bruna Nortje who also gave us plenty to think about with her constructive criticism and scores.
Our 2nd meeting for the month was held as an online zoom meeting on the 22nd, and was judged by Michael Feistel who also gave us some good criticism to work with to improve our skills.
Brian Shaw, Our esteemed organizer of trips and photo opportunities has been hard at work and came up with the following options for club members to attend during the month which were well attended
Horse Polo on the 17th till 19th
Dog Agility on the 18th till the 20th
In addition Clare Appleyard organised for us to visit and take photos of the St Sergius Russian Orthodox Church in Midrand on the 12th, which was a very interesting and informative outing, with plenty of excellent photo opportunities
It was also announced that South Africa was the winning country in the latest German International Photocup, with 2 of our members, Fabiola Grant and Dave Wolstencroft, getting acceptances and helping to fly the SA flag high.
a Big congratulations to Brian Shaw too, who won the Junior PSSA competition for the Month of March, with his ‘Wings Open’ image shown below in the list of monthly club night winners.
Congratulations must also go to Sonja Olivier for getting promoted to the 2 Star level in our club
The club log still remains a tightly contested affair, but Brian Shaw has now taken the overall lead going in to the Month of April
